    In recent years, Bonaventure Cemetery has become one of Savannah's most popular tourist attractions, primarily due to its role in Berendt's best-selling book, "In The Midnight of Good and Evil." The cover of the book features the "Bird Girl" which used to reside in the cemetery. The sculpture has since been moved to the Telfair Museum of Art. Savannah’s Bonaventure Cemetery This cemetery today is over years old and is considered to be Savannah’s most active when it comes to ghosts. It at one time contained the famous Bird Girl statue, which appeared on the cover of John Benendt’s book, Midnight in Author: Virginia Lamkin.

      While we were visiting Savannah, we decided a tour of Bonaventure Cemetery, made famous by the novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, would make an atmospheric addition to our October. Deciding On a Tour. Bonaventure, which dates to the Victorian era, is located east of Savannah on the Wilmington : Missy Hayes. Find the historic cemetery just 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the center of Savannah. Parking is available at the cemetery and taxis are available from the center of Savannah. Bonaventure Cemetery is open to the public every day of the year and visitors are encouraged to drive through the vast property.
